Armin Strom

The journey began in 2009 with the opening of the fully integrated Manufacture Armin Strom in Biel. Under the leadership of watch enthusiast Serge Michel and master watchmaker Claude Greisler, our goal was clear: to create innovative, high-quality timepieces in-house, rooted in Swiss-German watchmaking tradition yet elevated through our self-developed movement concepts

Each watch created is hand-crafted, with nearly all movement components made in-house. Naturally, this level of craftsmanship requires time and dedication, which is why the annual production remains deliberately limited. Exclusivity? Absolutely.

Today, Serge Michel, Claude Greisler and their team of watchmakers and finishing specialists make up the company that is: one of Switzerland’s premier independent watch brands. Armin Strom is proud to say that, since 2009, they have evolved into a sought-after name among watch collectors and connoisseurs, drawn to the exceptional horological value in their timepieces. Value that comes to life when one of their artisans at their bench looks at a small piece of metal, thinking to themselves: “I will make every nanometer of you perfect.”

Armin Strom – MIRRORED FORCE RESONANCE MANUFACTURE – EDITION GREEN

  • Description
  • Technical Specifications

The Mirrored Force Resonance is Armin Strom take on a fascinating watchmaking phenomenon: resonance. This physical effect has captivated watchmakers since the 17th century. It occurs when two balances oscillate next to each other. They then regulate each other through their emitted vibrations. In theory, this produces significantly more reliable timing rates, aka greater chronometric stability. In reality, and especially in watches, maintaining resonance is very challenging. Wrist movements or minor shocks can easily disrupt it. Armin Strom created their own patented system to solve this problem. It makes resonance more stable and less prone to disturbances. With this, they have achieved something rare: introducing reliability into the unpredictable world of physics.

The Mirrored Force Resonance reveals its mechanical artistry through its deliberate asymmetry. The two balances are on the left side of the dial. The grenage-finished time display is a calm counterpoint on the right. This visual harmony is a testament to Armin Strom’s belief that a watch’s true value lies in its mechanical heart. The real spectacle unfolds in the interplay between the two balances. Their resonant dance, linked by the patented clutch spring, is a captivating performance and a mesmerising display of kinetic energy. In the Mirrored Force Resonance, every glance at your wrist reveals the fascinating forces at work.

Armin Strom – GRAVITY EQUAL FORCE – ULTIMATE SAPPHIRE PURPLE

  • Description
  • Technical Specifications

A conventional mainspring’s force drops as it unwinds. It’s a law as old as watchmaking itself. But laws were made to be understood, then transcended. The Gravity Equal Force reimagines the horological energy transfer through a constant-force mechanism that optimizes the non-linear power curve inherent in traditional mainspring systems. Put more simply: it breaks the laws of traditional watchmaking with radical micro-engineering.

Armin Strom’s ASB19 calibre features their patented equal force barrel combined with automatic winding. By implementing a sophisticated stop-work mechanism, we isolate the most consistent segment of the mainspring’s power curve, ensuring near-linear energy delivery to the escapement. In other words: we convinced the mainspring to deliver power as consistently as a Swiss train schedule. Driven by a micro-rotor, the movement maintains an impressively slim profile. The Gravity Equal Force proves that mechanical efficiency and visual intricacy work very well together. A point that we try to prove in every one of our timepieces, by the way.

Armin Strom – One Week – Manufacture Edition

  • Description
  • Technical Specifications

The One Week Manufacture Edition proves that measuring time can be a three-dimensional experience thanks to its intricately crafted mechanical architecture. It’s a ticking exploration of horological depth that can last up to seven days. The One Week Manufacture Edition rejects the conventions of what a watch dial is supposed to look like. Instead, it presents time through a layered architecture of anthracite PVD-coated bridges and plates. Each component is positioned to create a mechanical landscape that reveals new details from every angle.

True to Armin Strom’s aesthetics philosophy, which is deeply rooted in the classical craftsmanship of haute horlogerie, each component of the One Week Manufacture Edition undergoes meticulous hand-finishing. Geneva stripes flow across the bridges, while straight and circular graining create subtle shifts in texture. The cone that drives the power reserve indicator is hand-polished, as are the many bevels that catch the light with the highest precision across the timepiece. Among these refined details, the polished ratchet wheel bevels stand out as particularly striking. The frosted mainplate provides the perfect backdrop for its mechanical performance.

Armin Strom – Tribute 1 – Fumé Green

  • Description
  • Technical Specifications

The Tribute 1 is Armin Strom’s most stripped-down statement of mechanical philosophy—a timepiece that proves complexity can be calm and innovation can be playful. And a tribute to those dress pieces from the funky era of the 1970s where new forms met new technologies and luxuriousness got a new appearance.

Dramatic, intense and reflecting a multitude of tones, the fumé dial gives a new depth to the already three-dimensional Tribute 1. The guilloché engraved dial plate is handcrafted by celebrated independent watchmaker Kari Voutilainen’s dial atelier. The Tribute 1 Fumé is limited to 10 pieces.

Armin Strom – Tribute 1 – Blue Edition

  • Description
  • Technical Specifications

The Tribute 1 is Armin Strom’s most stripped-down statement of mechanical philosophy—a timepiece that proves complexity can be calm and innovation can be playful. And a tribute to those dress pieces from the funky era of the 1970s where new forms met new technologies and luxuriousness got a new appearance.

Powering this creation is a manually wound movement with a barrel design that is capable of delivering a 100-hour power reserve. It’s a reimagining of how mechanical energy can be stored and delivered with unprecedented efficiency. By positioning the barrel at exactly the right place in the overall movement architecture, Amin Strom has created a movement that’s both compact and incredibly powerful. Positioned at 2 o’clock, the crown becomes more than a functional element—it is a deliberate design statement that challenges traditional watchmaking conventions.
