The exterior of the Sport Auto is a refined interplay of firm and rounded curves enlivened by a few counter-curves outlining a bodywork with a perfectly balanced design. The Maison’s second automatic calendar movement, the LF 270.01 calibre, is the result of an exclusive LAURENT FERRIER development. As a subtle blend of a tribute to the Micro-Rotor with natural escapement and a more assertive and sporty style, this movement is entirely designed, decorated, assembled and adjusted in the LAURENT FERRIER workshops. More suited to sports watches, this is a Swiss lever escapement using an automatic winding system with an off-centre micro-rotor. For non-negligible benefits in terms of resistance to shocks and vibrations, this movement is fitted with a unidirectional ball bearing replacing the traditional ratchet system.

The Square Micro-Rotor features a vivid ice blue dial with a sunburst satin brush-finishing, white gold indexes, and a seconds sub-dial at 6 o’clock. This intense colour enhances the timepiece while giving it a more contemporary look. The movement is still the self-winding FBN 229.01 calibre with a natural escapement and a three-day power reserve.

It offers two exclusive characteristics: a micro-rotor pawl-fitted automatic winding system, assisted by an exclusive silicon double-direct impulse escapement fitted directly on the balance, inspired by the father of modern horology, Abraham-Louis Breguet. This modern construction, associated with the use of cutting-edge materials,
maximises the restitution of energy.

Its calibre that is automatically wound by means of an off-centred Micro-Rotor, stems from an exclusive development inspired by the “natural” escapement invented by Abraham-Louis Breguet. This hand-wound movement incorporates a Swiss lever escapement and offers a power reserve of up to 80 hours. The power reserve indicator is placed on the movement and visible on the caseback. Much appreciated by purists, the long-blade ratchet, characteristic of LAURENT FERRIER manual movements, here boasts a polished bassiné finish, handcrafted in the brand’s own workshops.Each bridge is adorned with spotless Côtes de Genève decoration, and rhodium treatment. The plate is embellished with beading while the edges and inner edges are chamfered and then polished by hand, just like the screw heads. The art of watchmaking in its purest form.

Entirely designed in-house, the Annual Calendar School Piece Blue Opaline embodies all the values and spirit, Laurent Ferrier infuses in all his creations. With its date and month fast-adjustment by simply turning the crown forward and backward, these timepieces offer a great experience to the wearer.
